Tim McDavid joined Contanda Terminals LLC in February 2016 as the Vice President of Construction & Major Capital Projects. Tim brings over 35 years of experience as the CEO, President, or COO of 10 domestic and international companies serving multiple industries. As an entrepreneur, he rescued Graver Tank & Mfg. Co. Inc., the oldest API storage tank company in the world (est. 1857) from liquidation taking it from zero to $100M before selling it to a public company on AMEX.
His storage tank and terminal design experience includes EPC of the world’s largest API storage tank at 345ft diameter, providing exclusive patented floating roofs for the US Strategic Oil Reserves, tank designs for 27M bbl. of crude oil storage at two terminals in Egypt for SUMED, and $1.2B bulk liquid terminal and dock expansion on the Houston ship channel.
Tim led all construction operations for the 2nd largest mechanical/electrical contractor in the US. Tim brings owner operator experience as the former COO of an INC 5000 special chemical company with bulk liquid terminal. Steel experience includes managing 14 steel plate and pipe fabrication plants worldwide and passing the US Government in steel purchases for 3 consecutive years.
Tim pioneered AWP and other construction best practices as VP of Construction at Intergraph developing ‘SmartPlant Construction”; and driving work processes and procedures as COO of Construct-X for Exxon, Chevron, Dow and other major industry leaders on mega projects up to $72B. He served on over 20 industry boards and currently on the Advanced Work Packaging Certification Advisory Board, a former construction claim expert at The McCally Group, and the author of the Contractor’s License Law for the State of WV.
